Umatched living comfort
Designed by the elements

The colours and materials perfectly match the natural palette.
As such, Elements has a sophisticated, elegant appearance. Elements has a parametric design.

This is a highly innovative design process, in which an endless number of scenarios were tested to achieve the optimal design. Both for the building’s residents as well as its direct surroundings.

An enchanting appearance.
A breathtaking view

An iconic building at the head of the Amstelkwartier. The building’s shape has something new to offer from every perspective. The refined contours are elegantly tailored to its natural environment.

The parametric design means all outdoor spaces enjoy maximum sun exposure.

A wonderful place for you to live, located in the middle of the Amstelkwartier. With a ashtonishing view of the Amstel river or the city’s skyline.

"Your peaceful oasis
in the city"

A word from architect Patrick Koschuch

The sun as an element

“Elements was designed to store energy for the moments it’s needed most: In the morning and evening, when the residents use the most energy. This way, Elements is tailored to the lifecycle of its residents. The apartments and the royal outdoor spaces face the sun, so residents can enjoy the sunlight to the fullest. However, subtle balconies also allow you to keep the sun out of your house if you prefer. This results in a pleasant indoor climate”

The wind as an element

“Elements is adjacent to both a park and the water. High-rise buildings offer an amazing view, but they also catch a lot of wind. The parametric design ensures the wind is guided along an optimal path as it passes the building. This way, you can keep the windows open even on the higher floors and enjoy the view from your balcony in peace. This shelter from the wind makes Elements a comfortable place to live.”

“CO2 reduction is a base principle in the design of Elements. The use of wood in the hybrid construction is a way of CO2 storage rather than CO2 emission. This results in a 50% CO2 reduction.”

— Architect Patrick Koschuch - Koschuch Architects

Sustainability as an element

“What makes Elements so exceptional is that CO2 reduction is the base principle of its design. For the construction, we looked beyond the standard solution of simply using concrete. The use of wood in the hybrid construction is a way of CO2 storage rather than CO2 emission. The crowded city already causes temperature rises. Elements won’t join that trend.”

Luxury living, in harmony with nature

On the banks of the Amstel, nature has free rein. The gentle slopes of Elements seem a natural part of the landscape. The balconies are shaped to guide the wind and offer shelter from direct sunlight. That way, you’ll primarily experience the benefits of nature in your house. The natural influences don’t end at the building’s entrance, either. In the luxurious and adventurous courtyard, children can play safely and residents can meet one another, just like they can on the roof, where you are met by the splendour of nature and the delightful sun.

“Urban luxury and living comfort in a beacon of sustainability. Sustainable construction and sustainable living were key factors in the design. This makes Elements a truly remarkable building.”

— Architect Patrick Koschuh - Koschuch Architects

Maximum daylight

With solar panels on the roof and integrated into the edges of the balconies, the building sustainably generates 100% of the energy it uses itself. The building features extended façades on the eastern and western sides, resulting in extra daylight for the residences.

On the south side of the building, the graceful balconies act as natural awnings, while the windows on the north side are kept completely unobstructed for maximum sun exposure. The triple glazing keeps the heat out in summer and keeps it in during the winter, resulting in a comfortable indoor climate no matter the season.

Sheltered from the wind and exposed to the sun

Many of the apartments feature a corner position with windows on two sides, allowing you to enjoy a panoramic view, lots of sunlight and your own terrace, sheltered from the wind. Here, you’ll live in harmony with the elements, all year round. You can see the city and feel the nature around you.

About the apartments About the apartments

Elements is the first building to visibly and tangibly bring together the elements.

CO2 reduction thanks to the use of wood

Wood construction is the future; it allows us to reduce our strain on the environment and realise significant CO2 reductions. The removable intermediate floors of the two-story buildings are made of wood. The building plinth is likewise entirely made of wood, with floating floors. This allows for material savings, which benefit the environment. Great for now, and great for the future.

“Temperatures in Amsterdam are about four degrees higher than they are in the ‘Groene Hart’. The plentiful greenery in Elements contributes to better air quality and lowers the temperature in its surroundings.”

— Sustainability Expert Mathew Vola – Arup

More green,
less heat

Elements adds 2300 m2 of rooftop greenery and over 700 m2 of planted surface to the city. The roof with solar panels cools the residences below it, and the plants in the gardens offer refreshment in summer. Collected rainwater is reused to water the rooftop garden, courtyard and sedum garden.

An energy-neutral building

All building-related energy, for the lifts or climate control systems, for example, is entirely generated by Elements. This is exceptional for this type of building. This design has raised the bar for energy-neutral high-rise construction.
